Welcoming Sophia Felix to CLCM

Gigi Siddiqi is a Strategic Communications Specialist with 22 years of experience in humanitarian response, international development, and public health. Throughout her career, she has been drawn to work that centers the most vulnerable — displaced populations, refugees, and underserved communities working to access their most basic human rights.

For over 13 years in the international humanitarian space, Ghazala supported communications for disaster risk resilience programs with the UN, contributing to recovery efforts in the wake of earthquakes and floods. Her work in shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene gave her a deep appreciation for the dignity embedded in the basics of daily life. Alongside her communications work, she used documentary film as a tool for bearing witness and raising awareness.

More recently, she brought that same commitment to public health communications, supporting UN-led development initiatives internationally and U.S. government-led pandemic response programs at both the state and national scale — always with a focus on reaching communities that are often overlooked.

Outside of her professional work, she volunteers as a mentor to foster youth and refugee youth — a reflection of values that have guided her throughout her career.

Ghazala holds a B.A. from Lesley University and a Diploma in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy at King's College, London.
