Carol Coyne, Esq.
Assistant General Counsel, MA Dept of Developmental Services
Carol serves as Board President of CLCM and has been an active member of the Board since 2019. For the past ten years, Carol has worked at the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS), where she currently serves as the Deputy General Counsel. Prior to working at DDS, Carol worked as a legal services lawyer and manager for thirty years at several different legal services programs including Merrimack Valley-North Shore Legal Services and Maryland Legal Aid. In her capacity as a legal aid attorney, she provided services in a wide variety of legal areas, including housing, consumer rights, domestic violence, public benefits, education, and children’s rights. Carol also served on the board of the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute (MLRI) and the Children’s Law Support Project (CLSP). Her work experience, including various leadership roles, reflects a deep commitment to public service and to advancing high-quality supports for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Massachusetts.
Jennifer Lamanna, Esq.

Jennifer Lamanna is the founder and principal attorney of Lamanna Law, LLC, a woman-owned firm dedicated to providing effective legal services in appeals, criminal defense, business litigation, family law, DCF defense, and personal injury. Attorney Lamanna is a summa cum laude graduate of Northeastern University and Boston University School of Law, where she was a member of the Probate Law Journal. She has over 25 years of litigation experience in all levels of the Massachusetts court system, including Superior Court, Appeals Court, and the Supreme Judicial Court. In addition to her legal expertise, Jennifer is passionate about community involvement and strives to support local organizations and initiatives. She joined the CLCM Board in 2025
Reyna Ross
Catholic Charities Healthy Families North Shore
Reyna Ross joined the CLCM Board in 2025. She is an inspiring leader and community advocate, deeply committed to personal growth and supporting others. She serves as a Home Visitor at Catholic Charities Healthy Families North Shore program in Lynn, a voluntary and free home-based family coaching program that supports young, first-time parents and helps them create stable, nurturing environments for their children. She has many years of experience as a family advocate, parent educator, and in childcare.
Claire Schneider, Esq.
Counsel, Office of General Counsel. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Claire Superfine Schneider is Counsel in MIT's Office of the General Counsel. Her areas of focus at MIT include intellectual property, sponsored research, conflict of interest, entrepreneurial activities, and academic and business transactions. Before joining MIT, Claire was an attorney in the Licensing and Technology Transactions Practice at the Boston office of the law firm, Mintz Levin, where she advised clients on complex technology transactions. Prior to joining the Licensing and Technology Transactions Practice, Claire was a litigator at Mintz Levin and, prior to that, an IP litigator at the Boston law firm, Wilmer Hale. Claire graduated summa cum laude from the Boston University School of Law and cum laude from Dartmouth College. Following law school, Claire was a law clerk for the Honorable Richard G. Stearns in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the Honorable Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall and the Honorable Associate Justice Fernande Duffly (both of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts).Prior to law school, Claire worked for several years as a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, and also at an international NGO in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Brigid Harrington, Esq.
Senior Attorney, Hunton Andrews Kurth, LLP
Brigid is an attorney at Hunton Andrews Kurth, whose practice focuses on advising institutions of higher education. Brigid has worked in-house at universities including Harvard and UMass Boston, and began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. Brigid lives in Newburyport with her husband and children.
Michelle Guzman

Michelle Guzman is a community leader and the founder of Lynn Walking Shoe Tours, a storytelling-driven tour company that highlights the rich history, public art, and cultural heritage of Lynn, Massachusetts. A long-time resident of the city, Michelle is also a community organizer, a union member of 1199SEIU and participant of local meetings and boards to be a multicultural voice within the community in Lynn. Michelle has been a devoted member of the Children's Law Center of Massachusetts Board since 2018. She brings diversity and connectivity from the community we serve.
Michael Yu, Esq.
Associate, Ropes & Gray LLP
Michael Yu is an associate at Ropes & Gray LLP and practices in the Asset Management group, primarily in private fund formation. Mike holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, Mike served as a student attorney in the Juvenile Justice Clinic and as an Executive Online Editor of the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy. Prior to law school, Mike worked as a clinical social worker in Boston, providing therapeutic services to high-risk and system involved children and adolescents. Mike holds a Master’s of Social Work and a Master’s of Theology from Boston College. Before graduate school, Mike served as an AmeriCorps member with Franciscan Outreach in Chicago providing services to homeless men and women. He joined the CLCM board in 2023.
Nicole McClain
Lynn City Councilor, Founder Northshore Juneteenth Association
Nicole McClain is a public servant, U.S. Army veteran, and community builder rooted in Lynn, Massachusetts. She served in Iraq in 2004 and 2008 and continues her lifelong commitment to service as a City Councilor-at-Large. A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, Nicole is the Founder and President of the North Shore Juneteenth Association and holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy from Boston College. Her work centers on building inclusive systems, uplifting culture, expanding opportunity, and creating pathways for future generations.

Attorney Dalton is the Managing Partner at Brigantine, P.C. in addition to being a well-established and respected family law practitioner. Prior to Brigantine, Attorney Dalton worked in Washington, DC providing support to USG initiatives in AML and CFT alongside the US Treasury and State Department. Attorney Dalton is a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School (’88), Stanford University (BA, Philosophy ‘92), The Graduate Institute at St. John’s College (MA, Liberal Arts, ‘95) and The University of San Diego School of Law (JD, ‘03) where he was awarded for his Jurisprudence work. During law school, he interned with the Federal Defenders of Billings, MT and for the Foundation for Freedom of Information in St. Petersburg, Russia. Prior to attending law school Attorney Dalton was the Director of the San Francisco office of Human Rights Watch. Attorney Dalton currently lives in Ipswich, Massachusetts with his wife and two young children.
Susan Lillis, Esq.

Susan G. Lillis is a Massachusetts attorney with more than three decades of experience in family and probate law. From 2000 to 2020, she led her own practice in Ipswich, focusing on domestic relations dispute resolution through negotiation, litigation, collaborative law, and mediation. She has also served the Essex County Probate and Family Court for over 25 years through the Lawyer for the Day and Conciliation Programs. Susan currently serves as Clerk and newsletter editor for her church, and sits on the Government and Bylaw Committee for the Town of Rockport.A longtime board member of the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts, Susan serves as Clerk and brings deep institutional knowledge, governance experience, and a sustained commitment to children and families.
Sam Thompson, Esq.

Sam Thompson is an education law attorney at SET Law, where he works on implementing enforceable IEPs for students. Before entering law, Sam worked as a special education teacher and administrator. He successfully advocated for children in and out of the classroom and provided students with special needs better access to the curriculum. Sam holds a J.D. from the University of Massachusetts School of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Boston College and a Master of Education in Moderate Disabilities from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
