Community Education and Training

Children's Law Center staff provides trainings and community education seminars to parents, attorneys, providers, and children. Among the many substantive training areas covered by CLCM staff are special education, school discipline, IEP's, 504 Plans, DSS (DCF) matters, CHINS, aging-out issues, juvenile justice advocacy, and related matters. The CLCM also conducts various "Know Your Rights" seminars for youth designed to address, and protect, their civil rights. The Law Center has created and maintains in its offices and on its website community education brochures covering most of the topic areas in which trainings are offered.
